Amador County has some festive holiday events starting in December to get you into the holiday spirit! With movies, live performances, hay rides, a festival and a light parade, there’s plenty going on to help everyone have a magical holiday season.
Sutter Creek Theater Holiday Events
The Sutter Creek Theater will be screening “The Magic of Christmas” on December 2 at 7pm and December 10 at 1pm and 4pm. This is a locally produced (shot in Elk Grove, CA) family film about Christmas. Members of the cast will be at the screenings to sign posters. Kids 12 and under can see the film for $3; $5 for adults. On December 3, Molly’s Revenge will perform “Winterdance: A Celtic Christmas Celebration” with the Rosemary Turco Irish Dancers. The performance will include old and new Christmas songs from all over the world with a Celtic twist. You’ll be able to sing along to some of your favorite carols! Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 on the day of the show. Tickets for kids 12 and under are $10. For more information on these performances and to buy tickets, please visit the Theater website.
Jackson Rancheria Hay Rides, December 5-15, 5-8pm, Rancheria Fire House
The Rancheria is decorated with over 2 million lights for the holidays. The rides follow a tour around the Rancheria followed by a visit with Santa for children and concessions for all. Look for the big tent at the Fire Station on Dalton Road. Dress warmly, bring a camera and a toy for the annual Jackson Rancher-Amador Sheriff’s office Christmas Toy Drive. Hay rides are free all holiday season. For more information email contactus@jacksoncasino.com or call 800-822-WINN (9466).
Children’s Holiday Festival, December 9, 5:30-8pm, Margaret Dalton’s Childrens Center, Jackson
Welcome in the holidays at the 10th annual children’s holiday festival! This free event celebrates with activities, music, snacks, Santa Claus and entertainment. It’s a great event for the whole family to get into the holiday spirit. This is also a great chance to check out the new center at 975 Broadway in Jackson. For more information on the festival, call 209-257-1092.
Happy Holidays in Amador County this year!
