Fall Fun in Amador County

Fall is coming upon us in Amador County, California! You know what that means: Pumpkins, parades, art and plenty of fun. Here’s an overview of what’s going on near Jackson and Amador County so you won’t miss anything!

Amador Flower Farm Fall Festival, October 1&2 9am-4pm, Amador Flower Farm

Falls is a great time to kick start your garden and learn more about planting, pruning, composting and more. October 1Amador County Fall Festival is the start of Amador Flower Farm’s “Huge 2 Day Daylily Sale” and the Amador Flower Farm Festival. With farm animals, a tram tour of the farm, a hay bale maze, pumpkin patch and cornfield maze, those of any age will be enjoy this festival. Gardening experts will also be giving demonstrations throughout the day as well as answer your questions. Artisans producing olive oil, vinegar, garden pieces, planters and wheelbarrows are scheduled to attend. Italian Ice and other food will be on hand or else you are welcome to picnic.

The pumpkin patch, corn maze and hay bale maze are open to the public daily from October 1 to 31. The farm animals and tram ride are available every weekend in October, weather permitting.

Harvest Faire, October 8 9am-5pm, Downtown Ione

Got an awesome pumpkin carving idea? Enter it into one of the three pumpkin carving contests in Ione at this festival. The Largest Pumpkin Contest check in is at 9am and awards handed out at 12pm. Weirdest and Best Decorated or Carved Pumpkin Contest check  in is at 12pm and awards at 3:30pm. There will also be a sidewalk chalking contest for kids, groups, and adults with judging at 4pm and awards at 4:30pm. Even your pooch can participate, are there are trophies for the prettiest, ugliest, costume and “looks like owner” dogs!  Winners can win trophies and cash prizes. There will also be live music, and booths with antiques and fall pieces.
