March is a great month to be in Amador County, as you can take part in the 49er Treasure Trail starting Friday, March 22nd until Saturday March 23rd. It’s a unique way to explore the area! Game participants will ride the railroad tracks on a hand car, pan for gold, perform onstage and play a Native American game of Staves. All are welcome to participate in teams of up to 8 people!
The Grand prize is an amazing weekend getaway in Amador County! You can enjoy the wineries and beautiful scenery all over again. There are also prizes for best costumes, most fun team, slowest to finish, traveled the furthest and so forth. Other prizes include tickets to local events, meals, gift certificates and merchandise from Amador County. Local destinations and businesses of Amador County will provide challenges to complete that last up to 15 minutes.
Registration is now open and costs $15 for each team member. Children 16 and under can play for free with an adult. All players must complete a registration form. Registration includes a player ID, a game rule program and a list of adventures and challenges, which are worth points. After your team reservation is received, you will get a confirmation email with a form attached with more details. The PDF form needs to be completed by each team member and then dropped off at check-in.
Last year’s winning team was “Shop Gifted,” sponsored by the store Gifted on Main Street in Jackson. Teams chose the Gold Country Pet Resort and Amador Central Railroad for best experience on 49er Treasure Trail. The Pet Resort groomed players and put them through agility tests while the railroad provided hand cars for teams to ride.
Those staying in hotels in Jackson CA will find that the 49er Treasure Trail is a unique way to explore the area. For more information and to register, click here.
