Sutter Creek Trash to Treasure
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Of course, the saying does not literally mean trash, but rather finding something useful that someone else no longer needs. Everyone has had that experience where they absolutely fall in love with an item that someone else owns. Why not take a day to browse through other people’s stuff and find a treasure? Anyone staying at one of the hotels in Jackson CA can do just that at the 11th annual Sutter Creek Trash to Treasures.
Sutter Creek is a beautiful Gold Rush town that is a perfect mix between old and modern. The town is filled with history, and plenty of interesting items. During your visit, you can get an even closer look at the town by browsing through their “junk”! Sutter Creek Trash to Treasures is an annual event where the community gets together to sell and buy each other's “junk.” You can find everything from antiques, jewelry, furniture, collectibles, plants and so much more! Both local stores and citizens set up booths to sell new and used items to community members and even tourists. What better way to find something that’s one of a kind than shopping through a small town’s items?
Since the event is taking place downtown on Eureka Street, take a stroll around and get a sense of what it must have been like during the California Gold Rush. Sutter Creek is nicknamed the “Jewel of the Gold Country,” because of the influence the town had on the Gold Rush. The town is committed to preserving its history, while at the same time adding a modern flair. Visit a museum to learn about history, have lunch at a local restaurant, or just relax and go wine tasting. You can enjoy all this under the golden California sun.
